Can You Wash Your Beard With Neutrogena T/Gel

Neutrogena T/Gel is made for the scalp, not the beard. That matters because beard flakes do not always come from one clear thing. Dry skin, product build-up, irritation and dandruff-type flaking can all look similar once they are sitting in beard hair.

Can moisturiser help with beard dandruff?

Moisturiser helps when dry skin is part of the problem. It will not fix every beard flake, but it can stop dry skin from pretending to be dandruff.

Hard water, cold weather, wind and strong cleansers can all leave the skin under your beard feeling tight. A light moisturiser gives the skin some backup, especially after washing your face or beard.

is hair shampoo bad for facial hair?

To be fair when you wash your hair in the shower, your face will certainly come in contact with soapy suds from the shampoo, and there is not much you can do about it. 

That is different from choosing scalp shampoo as your beard wash. A bit of shampoo foam across your face is one thing. Rubbing it into the beard on purpose is another. It can calm flakes, but it can also annoy the skin underneath.
