Beard Treatment - Safety First

When we say one or two drop of essential oil, we mean one or two drops. Not a splash. Not a generous glug.

These oils are powerful - used right, they’re brilliant. Used wrong, you’ll be Googling “how to undo essential oil damage” in under a minute. Follow the amounts. Patch test the mix first.

Mineral Beard Detox Rub

This detox rub helps clear up inflammation and acne, by soothing and healing your underbeard skin. It also helps reduce beard itch and rough patches by scrubbing off dead skin hiding under the beard hair. Works well on beards that feel frazzled.

How To Use the Mineral Beard Detox Rub

Mix it all up in a bowl. Scoop out a bit with your fingers and work it into your damp beard - right down to the skin.

Focus on the itchy bits or anywhere that feels clogged. Let it do its thing while you’re in the shower, then wash it off with regular beard wash and warm water, and pat dry. That’s it.

Use it once or twice a week, especially when your beard’s been acting up or you’ve been in the city too long.

Storage

Stick it in a clean jar with a lid and keep it somewhere cool and out of the sun. It should hold up for a good few weeks. If it starts to separate, just give it a quick stir before you use it.

Beard-Clarifying Sugar Polish

This one’s for when your beard’s been sweating, smogging, or generally 'not working out'. It deals with those tiny under-beard spots that feel like they’re trying to start a fight. You know the ones.

Just wet your beard, scoop a little on your fingers, and work it in to the beard and roots. Go gently.

Give your beard a quick wash with your usual beard cleanser to remove any stickiness, then rinse off and pat dry.
Use once a week max -  after workouts or travel.

Storage

If you want to shave your beard off, this one is a great anti-aging treatment to reset the skin underneath - use in the months leading up to 'The Big Shave'.
Store in a small airtight jar in a cool spot. Use each batch within 2–4 weeks. Stir before use if the sugar settles.

The Beard Rescue Rub

This one’s for beards that feel rough, stiff, or like they’ve been through a long week. The salt lifts off dead skin that gets trapped under the hair, and the oils sink in fast to soften the beard and calm any tightness underneath. Good when your beard feels dry but greasy products make it worse.

How To Use The Beard Rescue Rub

Mix it together until it looks like gritty porridge. Wet your beard, scoop a small amount, and rub it through - make sure it hits the skin, not just the ends.

Don’t scrub like you’re stripping paint, just get things moving. Rinse it out, and if your beard feels a bit too slick after, wash it lightly with your usual beard wash.

Storage

Keep it in a sealed jar, out of direct heat. It’ll last a few weeks - maybe longer if you stick it in the fridge. Stir it if the mix starts to separate.

Underbeard Rescue Paste

This paste is for when the skin under your beard throws a tantrum. It helps calm down angry patches, odd bumps, and soreness. Great after shaving, sweating, or being in cold or dry air for too long. Don't use it every week - more like a first-aid kit for when your underbeard skin feels unwell.

How To Use the Underbeard Rescue Paste

Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl and stash in a jar with a lid. When you’re ready to use it, scoop out a bit of powder and stir in enough tamanu oil to get a thick paste - something you can spread without it dripping.

Work it into your beard using your fingertips, making sure it reaches the skin underneath. Leave it there for 10–15 minutes, then wash, rinse and pat your face dry.

Storage

Keep the dry mix sealed and dry - it’ll last over a year if you don’t let moisture in. Only mix with oil when you’re ready to use it.

Citrus Beard Clean-Out

This one’s for beards that gets too oily too fast - especially if you’ve skipped a wash or been sweating through a long day. The citrus oils help cut through that slick, and the mix clears out the roots without drying your skin. Use it when your beard feels heavy, looks a bit shiny in the worst way, or smells like it needs a fresh start.
